THE COBALT BLUE AND FLORAL PATTERN ARE WONDERFUL …. VERY MUCH IN THE BLUE ONION STYLE OF MEISSEN, ZWIEBELMUSTER, BLUE DANUBE (PLATES IN PICTURE BACKGROUND).

** UCAGCO IS THE ACRONYM FOR THE UNITED CHINA AND GLASS COMPANY, FIRST ESTABLISHED IN 1850 AS “ABE MAYER & CO.”, BY FOUNDER ABE MAYER. THE COMPANY WAS AN IMPORTER AND DISTRIBUTOR OF CHINA AND GLASSWARE, DOING BUSINESS IN THE SOUTHEAST US AND CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA. THE COMPANY ADOPTED THE UCAGCO MARK IN 1930 AND BEGAN IMPORTING FROM JAPANESE POTTERIES AFTER WORLD WAR II TO ABOUT 1961 . IN THE RESEARCH THERE IS REFERENCE TO THE UCAGCO MARK BEING USED AS A JOBBER MARK FOR SOUTHERN POTTERIES INCORPORATED (SPI- BLUE RIDGE POTTERY). I WILL UPDATE IF MORE INFORMATION COMES UP. -Jack.
