FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION ARE 7 1/8 INCH ANTIQUE DESSERT OR PIE PLATES FROM ROYAL WORCESTER IN THEIR RARELY AVAILABLE COBALT #5488 VITREOUS** SMOOTH EDGE PATTERN. THE BACK STAMP AND YEAR CYPHER DATE THEM TO 1923 (ASTERISK WITH 7 DOTS).
THIS PATTERN WAS MANUFACTURED BY ROYAL WORCESTER UNDER SEVERAL DIFFERENT PATTERN NUMBERS; 3898, 5488, 5786. THE GEORGE GRAINGER COMPANY, TAKEN OVER BY ROYAL WORCESTER IN 1889, ALSO PRODUCED THE PATTERN (#5786). GRAINGER, UNDER ROYAL WORCESTER, OPERATED UNTIL 1902.

THE DESSERT PLATES ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION CONSIDERING THEIR ALMOST 100 YEAR AGE!! THERE ARE NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR CRAZING; ALTHOUGH A FEW WEE SCRATCHES ON THE FACE. THE GILT TRIM AND ACCENTS ARE GREAT !!
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LISTING PRICE IS FOR ONE DESSERT OR PIE PLATE. I HAVE MORE PLATES AVAILABLE IN THIS SIZE; THREE HAVE CRAZING AND TWO HAVE WEAR TO THE GILT EDGE.
