BLUE DANUBE- BLUE ONION (c-1951+) PEPPER SHAKER- BANNER STAMP
THE PEPPER SHAKER IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THERE ARE NO CRACKS, CHIPS OR CRAZING, ALTHOUGH THERE APPEARS TO BE A SMALL HAIRLINE AT THE TOP, JUST AT THE BASE OF THE FINIAL. ALSO A WEE ROUGH SPOT ON THE SIDE. NONETHELESS, THE COBALT BLUE AND MEISSEN STYLE PATTERN, UNDER-GLAZED ON FINE TRANSLUCENT PORCELAIN, DISPLAYS GREAT QUALITY!
THE SHAKER STANDS 5 INCHES IN HEIGHT. IT HAS ONE ROW OF 6 HOLES AROUND THE FINIAL.
WHAT A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR SHAKER COLLECTION OR TO YOUR BLUE DANUBE/BLUE ONION SET. DO KEEP IN MIND THAT AS TIME GOES BY, FEWER OF THESE GREAT PIECES WILL BE AVAILABLE.
THANK YOU FOR LOOKING.

AND IN THE CENTER, STYLIZED PEONIES AND ASTERS, THEIR STEMS, IN FLOWING CURVES, WINDING AROUND A BAMBOO STALK. MEISSEN WAS ONE OF THE FIRST IN EUROPE TO PRODUCE THIS PATTERN IN THE 1700’S.
